An Unofficial & Experimental attempt at improving the Escapist Magazine, one byte at a time.
Official Version Install version: 1.5.4 released: 17-9-2017
Development Version Install version: 1.5.4 released: 17-9-2017
Official Version Install version: 1.2.5 released: 17-5-2017
Mobile Version More... version: 1.0.7 released: 19-9-2017
About this add-on This add-on tries to make the Escapist Magazine a little bit easier to use and navigate.

The add-on at this moment is very much in an experimental phase and absolute stability can not be guaranteerd 100% of the time, however, the add-on has undergone enough testing and debugging to the extent that I feel comfortable sharing it.

For feedback, suggestions or other messages, you can visit this thread, this thread or message me through here.

This add-on was developed and tested on the latest version of Firefox ( 51.0 32Bits ) and Chrome ( 56.0.2924.87 ), so usage may vary on older or newer versions, in that case, feel free to shoot a message using the above methods.

Note: This Add-on is a private endeavor and is not affiliated with the Escapist Magazine or any of its associates.
Different Versions ( FireFox Only ) The add-on currently has 2 versions, the 'Official Version', a version which is signed and verified by Mozilla and distributed through its official Add-Ons page, and the 'Development Version', a version which is signed but not verified by Mozilla.

Official Version
This version is signed and verified by Mozilla staff to ensure that no harmfull code is present in the add-on.
Updates and publishing is handled by Firefox's official Add-Ons page.

At the moment of writing, 24-1-2017, this version is still undergoing verification and thus can not currently be installed in the latest version of Firefox.
Development Version
This version is signed by Mozilla but not verified by Mozilla staff to ensure that no harmfull code is present in the add-on.
Updates and publishing is handled by this domain ( luckymouse.nl ).

This doesn't neccesarily mean that there is harmfull code present in this version of the add-on, it just means that this add-on can be published and updated without having to wait for the verification process to complete.
Also, when clicking install for this version, Firefox will ask your explicit confirmation if you truly want to install this add-on.
Mobile Version
This is a small experimental version of this add-on, at the moment it only works for Mozilla Firefox on Android.
At the moment of writing, this version has none of the features of the Desktop versions of the add-on as it mainly focusses on redesigning the mobile Escapist Website to make it more Mobile Friendly.
For more information on the Mobile Version of the add-on, please click here.

Version History Minor Improvements Aside from bigger functional features described further below, the add-on also implements minor improvements to the Escapist's forums.

White Line Removal
On pages that filled the entire screen vertically, there used to be a white line beneath the page's black footer.
Post Page Redesign
The Create a Post page and Edit a Post page used to look different from each other with different spacing for elements and such, now they have a more universal look and make proper use of the screen's width.

Unstuck Forum News Footer
The boxes beneath forum pages used to stick to the black page footer.
Wild West Post Highlighting
Wild West posts are properly highlighted in the 'Popular Forum Posts' widget to make them easier to spot.
News and Article Redesign
The News and Article pages have been redesigned a little to make relevant content pop out more naturally on the page.
Incidentally, this also removes rogue commas between an article's tag boxes.
Features The add-on currently has the following features.
Dashboard
When turned on, this feature will notify the user when they receive a message, are quoted or when one of their user groups is updated, regardless of whether the user is on the Escapist's website or not.
A number indicating the number of new notifications will be shown in the top corner of the add-on and several links will be added to the add-on's menu.

Please do note that this add-on checks for new notifications every 5 minutes, meaning that the add-on's number of notifications can differ from the number shown on the Escapist's website.
Themes
This features allows users to recolor the website of the Escapist by hovering over the gear icon on the website and selecting "Launch Theme Dock".
WebM
When turned on, this feature will change [webm]link.webm[/webm] BB code to actual embedded WebM videos.

Replace Banned Avatars
This will replace "Perma Banned" avatars with their original avatars, if they are still available. If they are not available, they will be replaced with the default Male avatar.

Note: Avatars will not display instantly as the page loads as the Add-on has to do some work to retrieve these links, they will pop in over time.

This feature's toggle can be found in the Add-on's Options page, which can be accessed through the Add-on's menu.
Hide User Avatars
This will allow the user to hide certain users' avatars.

This feature's toggle can be found in the Add-on's Options page, which can be accessed through the Add-on's menu.
Up-Votes
This will allow the user to Up-Vote Forum Posts.

This feature's toggle can be found in the Add-on's Options page, which can be accessed through the Add-on's menu.
Notifications
This will enable or disable receiving notifications regarding EscapistPlus related subjects, such as for example when people Upvote your posts.

This feature's toggle can be found in the Add-on's Options page, which can be accessed through the Add-on's menu.
Quote Collapse
This feature allows users to collapse and expand quotes, getting rid of giant quote trees.
Live Demo

User JKL:Hey there, this is some quoted text!

User CVB:I've been quoted!

Spoiler Toggles
This feature allows users to re-collapse spoilers after expanding them.

Post Assistant
This feature adds a BB Code Post Assistant to the Reply box on thread pages.

Clicking on buttons once will spawn a BB Code opening tag, clicking on them again will spawn a BB code closing tag.
Clicking on the expand arrow next to a button will spawn a little popup that adds additional functionality to the BB Code.
These additional options can be added by either pressing the "Confirm" button, or by pressing the Enter key when the caret is still inside one of the input fields within the popup.

Latest Forum Posts
Because the widget has returned to the front page of the Escapist Magazine, this feature will be discontinued as of version 1.2.2 until further notice.

This feature attempts to re-add the "Popular Forum Posts" widget to the front page of the Escapist Magazine's website*.

This feature will remove the third content block in the row beneath the Twitch stream and replace it with the old "Popular Forum Posts" widget.
By turning this feature off, the old content block will be put back in place.

*Do note that this feature is wholly dependent on the back end for the widget still being supported by the Escapist Magazine.
Also, the style for the widget in the Live Demo below may look a little bit different from the actual version on the Escapist Magazine's website.

Block YouTube Autoplay
This feature attempts to stop embedded YouTube videos from playing automatically.

This feature works by intercepting HTTP requests to YouTube.com/embed/, taking out the "autoplay" part of the URL and redirecting the request to the new URL.
Extended Ignore List
This features will hide quotes from users on your ignore list.

This feature keeps a copy of your ignore list saved within the add-on so that it can hide quotes from users on your ignore list.

Going to your personal ignore list on the Escapist's website, you can copy the entire list as shown on that page to the internal ignore list, you can also purge the entire list.
Users that are on this internal ignore list will be highlighted green on this page.

When adding a user to your ignore list either through the buttons on a forum thread, or through the "Ignore Someone" function on your personal ignore list, this add-on should piggy back along with this and add the user automatically to the internal ignore list.
Also, when removing a user from your ignore list, the add-on should once again piggy back along with this and automatically remove this person from the internal ignore list.

Should problems arrise, please use the "Purge List" and then "Copy List" buttons to clear and repopulate the internal list.
Live Demo: Ignore List
A short description mirroring the above on how to use this feature.
Note that only names colored green are affected by this feature.
You can make them green by clicking "Copy List".
